S21SEC was founded in 2000, becoming the first professional cybersecurity company in Spain, having been recognised in that year with the McKinsey Start Up Award. Through its more than 15 years of establishment in the cybersecurity business industry, it has been in a path of constant growth and innovation with the aim of preventing and managing the risks which organizations and people are exposed to in their digital lives. To share some landmarks, in 2005 it launched its corporate security management platform –Lookwise-, and its internationalisation process began, with the opening of its office in Mexico. In 2006, it launched the first European Cybersecurity Innovation Centre. Shortly after, S21SEC launched an eCrime anti-fraud service portfolio, started to work with Intelligence Agencies, and created the first Spanish private CERT (Computer Emergency Response Team). In 2015, it became the first Spanish company signing a Memorandum of Understanding with Europol for the fight against cybercrime.
Meanwhile, S21SEC invests in the preparedness, committing to protection capability building, as well as training and awareness raising through the creation of S21SEC University. The key factors that contribute to S21SEC’s leading position in the cybersecurity industry are: its ability to combine intelligence gathering with advanced services and a 24x7x365 management model; its cooperation with public and private entities at National and European level; being actively involved in various international dedicated forums; a set of best-of-breed technology partnerships; and its comprehensive vision of cybersecurity addressing prevention, protection, detection and incident response, taking special care of infrastructures, communications and information which are critical for national security, but not missing the remaining social and economic fabric.
S21SEC has been consolidating its market share, by cooperating with Europol, ENISA and EDA, being involved in the creation of the European Cyber Security Group, supporting the establishment of a Cybersecurity Certification Agency and engaging with the Spanish Ministry of Home Affairs to create the Spanish National Centre of Excellence in Cybersecurity. Recently, S21SEC has joined, as a founding member, the European Cybersecurity Organisation (ECSO), which is the counterpart of the European Commission for the implementation of the Cyber Security contractual Public-Private Partnership (cPPP), to whose signature S21SEC was invited to take part.
With over 250 experts - one of the largest teams in Europe fully focused on cybersecurity, S21SEC is able to bring a wide portfolio of expertise on: Managed Security Services; Advanced Cyber Services (anti-fraud/eCrime, intelligence, red team); White Hat Professional Services (auditing and advanced hacking, strategy and compliance consulting, technology deployment), Technology Cyber Solutions – Lookwise (security management, monitoring solutions and endpoint protection) and Digital Surveillance; Cybersecurity Innovation; and Training. Role and main tasks in COMPACT
S21SEC will actively participate in the monitoring part of the project, through an active detection of malware in the Public Administrations websites.
Following the project roadmap, S21SEC will be responsible for the definition of the different Use Cases Scenarios and Requirements Elicitation, and the company will also work on the integration of the different solutions in a unified COMPACT platform.
At a later stage of the project, S21SEC will link the different achievements to other projects and initiatives aiming at raise awareness.
